Complete newbie here so hang with me. How much oil do you put in the motor on each change. Also, How often do you change the oil. Is it laps, nights whatever. Also, emptied our pockets getting the car so we are now saving to get shocks since it has afcos on all 4 corners. We need to get some laps and seat time coming from karts. Does any slinger track around allow you to race with 4 afcos on it. Thanks for any help and certainly won't be the last time we get on here.

It takes about 1 1/4 quarts with the filter.Put oil in run motor and recheck should be about 3/4's full do not fill to full mark when racing will push out into catch can.As for the shocks there not suppose to I know Borgers and Kutztown do not allow it.

We just run one quart. We change the oil and filter every week. Royal purple and a cheap filter. It's cheap insurance for $10. After running an entire season we took the motor to be freshened and to Tobias said it had MORE compression than stock! Just Needed a top end job. That's my testimonial to royal purple and changing it every week.

Thanks guys. Have heard that Royal purple might be the best. Also heard that Oakland Valley would let you race with afcos, and some will let you race with 2 bilsteins and 2 afcos playing mix and match. Any others besides OV, thats a long tow for us. We plan to hit a test and tune at a kart track soon. Also, is everyone running the duro tire on the right rear? Again, thanks for all the help

Any track has to let you run with at least 2 bilsteins...that's what is mandated in the rules...so really you only need to buy 2 to be legal and run anywhere.

I saw that but was emailed that you need 4 bilsteins. Can handle buying 2 by next week. If mix and match with afcos, where would you put the bilsteins?

...so really you only need to buy 2 to be legal and run anywhere. This is true. Unfortunately you cannot get them ANYWHERE. So if you plan on running speedweeks and don't have at least 2 Bilstiens on your car, stay home or get DQ'd. Why have a rule if you can't supply the parts?

Suggest you put the 2 bilsteins on the front. You will have to buy the shock extension tabs which bolt right on to the existing tab. You also need to modify the front side panel and make cut outs in the hood to accommodate the extensions.
For rear mounting of the bilsteins you will need to weld on a mounting nut approx. 1 1/4 in. below the lower mounting hole. You can see this set up on most Slingers this season at most tracks.
The front mount is easier and quicker.

Glad we bought an extra one.

You can use the front shock tab extensions on the rear also.

Nope no Bilstiens available. Paul L says the delivery date is August 10. Just kinda stinks that if you bought a car to run Speedweek it has to sit. Good Luck to all those who are able to compete.
