Saturday night before the Spring Spectacular was a good show for the Slingshots. Two brief rain showers did not cool the competition for any of the racing. In fact it slowed the track down just enough to make the racing closer.
The Juniors had nine cars take the track and put on a good show. The main event saw Dakota Kohler run to the checkers to pick up his second win. Kassidy Kreitz ran to an impressive runner-up position. She had to hold off Dylan Hoch and Dakota Barlet. Brandon McGill made the trip to run 5th place in the feature.
The All-Stars ran a split show with both halves paying the same purse. Before racing started the drivers agreed that the "Invaders" were to run a separate feature so there would be more time and space for them to learn the track for the next day's big event. In the main Brett Bieber led John Bockhorn and Alex Schoffstall to the checkered flag. The second All-Star feature sw Tyler Johnston, Matt Miller and Cody Klein lead the field to the finish line.

Spring Spectacular at the 'Hammer
The third annual Spring Spectacular was run on Sunday and the racing was awesome. The rains that fell the night before made for a good, smooth racing surface. The speedway took enough rubber in the warm-ups to make the time trials interesting. Shannon Smith set fast time for the All-Stars at 10.447 seconds, just 3 tenths off the track record. Dakota Kohler's 10.597 was only a tenth off the Junior record.
The Junior Slingers saw 12 cars line up for their 25 lap $1,000 to win Spectacular. Seven "invaders" were in the field and they were all capable of taking the money home. Young racer Jared Labogh timed 3rd fastest and ran in the leader's tire tracks for the entire race. Dakota Kohler has been on fire lately nd did not cool off for this event. He set quick time and led all 25 laps to take home the $1,000 top prize.
Shannon Smith was the fastest in qualifying, but Simon Egan was the class of the field in the All-Star portin of the show. The 55 looked like it was on a rail the whole way. Brett Bieber ran second and got close enough to touch Egan with 5 laps to go, but that was all he had. Matt Mertz ran a good race to finish just behind Bieber in third. Alex Schoffstall had the run of the day. He qualified 30th and worked his way from the D Main all the way to a 6th place in the A Main. Ricky Yetter, who won the first Spectacular, came back to race, but was knocked out of the C Main to end his day.
