I don't know if more classes is the answer, only a few tracks get a full field of cars now as it is. I can also see the point that there may be a need to get some of the younger drivers some more seat time before moving them up - but in most cases its the parents that are rushing to move them up before they are ready.
Why would or should anyone feel bad when racing or rubbing a younger driver? Do you think that Brett Hearn, Billy Pauch or Jimmy Horton, local guys that have been racing for years, feel bad rubbing or beating the younger guys in their division? The reality is that once your on the track its a race, against another driver & their car. As long as all drivers race with respect for one another what is the differece in age have to do with anything? In this division with the cars being so equal & most tracks so tight, there is going to be some rubbing - its the obvious slamming banging that tends to get out of control - there is a difference.
I recently raced side by side with another driver for the lead of a National race, we both were leaning on & rubbing each other but it never got out of control just good hard racing, no harm, no foul...afterwards we talked about what a great race it was.
Has anyone been to Grandview lately? you want to talk about rubbing is racing - those guys take it to a entirely different level!
Good Luck to everyone for the rest of this season - see you at the track!

my 2 cents...I have to agree that there would be to many classes if you start a third class..there are really good racers of all ages, alot of them are actually very young running the senior class and they do run a great race,so like one of you said once you put your helmet on you are all racers and you should race each other that way reguardless of the age of the other person...they are out to do the same thing you are .....and as far as racermom and fasttrak, she sounds like she was defending herself because he makes it sound like she attacked him and she says she didnt, and why didnt you just talk to her then..if it "blew you away" ...fasttraks post was about a specific track and a specific conversation, so he did personalize it, so she had a right to defend herself. after reading his post I took it that she went off on him . I dont think Racermom was complaining about you hitting her "15"your old driver from what she wrote it had more to do with your driving style.maybe fasttrak thinks hes to good to be beaten by someone younger say 13 -18,like snydersville last friday....I heard he was a little pissed..... what it comes down to is drive the best you can drive , thats all that matters...run a clean race and no on will complain...

I agree with flatcreek on a heavier weight class. I'm a pleasently plump driver and in shape, round its a shape?? I think a 200lb driver class would be great reguardless of the age or the car and driver. Maybe a minimum weight with no weights added would be another way to go as well sorta like nascar does presently.. I think it would be great giving heavier racers a chance to win more.. As for bubba I was mad at myself for loosing Friday night as I drove the car too hard and came out of my helmet as I often say, not at the feature winner... He drove a great race and deserved it... My wife after the race grabbed my helmet a yelled HELLO ANY ONE IN HERE!!!

Hey Bubba - If you read Fastrak's first post on this subject he NEVER mentioned anyone's name he just mentioned an incident at a specific track. Therefore he pointed a finger at no one unless of course the whole track knew what had happened between them and I find that highly doubtful.
Also just an FYI I drive a kart at Snydersville and saw what happened between Fastrak and I guess his wife. He was mad at himself and never said a negative thing about the winner.
I was actually considering buying a Slingshot but after all the negativity I have read throughout all of the message boards I think am going to hold off.

Thats funny......Well if you werent there you dont know exactly who knows what happened..I wasnt there so I dont either but I give racing mom credit for sticking up for what she did,she didnt have to come on here and get bashed, she could of hidden behind a name but she didnt she gave her name....she knew her side and she wanted it heard..honesty is the best policy.....fasttrak makes himself sound like he is invinsible...Ive read some other forums that involved him....but Im not going into that ,Slingshots are the best form of racing..everyone should be equal(unless you cheat),but those who cheat will get caught...so if reading some crap on the internet really effects what you race thats your choice, you will lose out on a great sport....

How bout this: all juniors must run 2brl carb and regular class can run any carb you wish. It would be much more fun to watch these cars if they actully went fast.

I will say it again.... Fastrak did not mention anyone's name in his original post. He mentioned names after her post was put up.
But now I'm onto a new point... This one is getting a little out of hand.
To answer your question, no, I was not at the track when their incident occurred but I find it funny that I was there on Friday night and absolutely no one was near his trailer except for me and a few other people that were with me by my trailer. So how can you have the nerve to even bring up him being mad about coming in second when you were not there. That is a little hypocritical don't you think? Saying that I don't know what happened because I wasn't at the other track but I know for fact no one else was around Fastrak.... Unless of course this is someone that was with me and you are trying to burn a bridge with me.

OH DEAR GOD!!!! THIS IS COMPLETLEY GOTTEN OUT OF HAND!!! If you can't tell by the user name this is Jay's wife.... Bubba and Just a Fan you need to stop adding fuel to the fire... I already know that the situation between Jay and Jessie is being handeled SO BACK OFF!!! As for the situation on Friday as Jay and Just a Fan wrote it is true he was mad AT HIMSELF not at anyone else. But I am curious, considering I don't know who Just a Fan is and obviously I don't know who Bubba is, if the both of you know so much about what happened on Friday tell me who you are and we will talk about it but honestly I don't think you will. You have been hiding behind names so far so why would you tell me your name now? I really can't stand getting involved in this but considring Bubba that you are talking about something you have no idea about I am stepping in. Jay probably won't read this post until tomorrow morning when he wakes up and will most likely be mad at me for stepping in but when someone talks about a situation that they have no idea about I feel the need to put my 2 cents in.

Maybe joenogood has an idea. A modified class, with a little more power these things would be a different animal to drive and maybe a different race to watch without as much rubbing and banging. JMO Oh yea , let's get this thread back to what it was meant to be about slingshot racing not someones personal issues at the track. There are three sides to every story and most of us don't need to know any of them.

Amen to ending the personal stuff. The main thing about Slingshots being standard is what made me want to race them. I don't know much about mechanics (I am learning) so an open class would not be for me. As for the person thinking about getting into Slingers (or maybe not) you shouldn't let this thread turn you off to the division. I'm sure in every division at every track some of this goes on. We are all competitors and hopefully are pretty friendly too. We all want to win so of course friction will occur. It's how you handle it that makes it bearable or not. I have met a ton of great people in this, my first, season and I recommend you try it out.

nbr19 back to your original question!! i think it would be a good idea but as slinger3 and bill49 stated, we don't have enough cars and it would like the karts. i'm sorry but but i haven't any examples. i enjoy racing with everone, the good drivers (you know who you are) and the bashers (you know who you are)!! lets get back to racing instead of the slingshot soap opera!!

Can we stick with the subject? All I want to know is WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON HAVING A JR CLASS THAT RUNS A 2BBL CARB FOR AGES 13-15 SO THEY GET A LITTLE MORE EXPIRIENCE BEFORE RUNNING SR's, all other BS START ANOTHER THREAD!. THANKS... RON NEIL NBR19

my opinion is stick to what we have... like they say the best way to gain experience and drive better is to drive with the best.. and to flatcreek we cant have a modified class or well we could but it would suck because it be like nascar and some 410s the same guy winning every week cuse he has the most money so he can do anything he wanted to em.. if i understood ur post the right way...

New this coming year. I'm 15 yrs. old and raced 1 time in my life. The easiest solution to this is to have the Jr's. run a 2 bbl. This gives them the full experience when they go up to seniors. Also, it should not be a Jr. class. It should be a rookie class just like the micros. Do you seniors want me going right to the senior class with only one race under my belt?
