Ryan Tidman Leads Every Lap To Win Borgers Rumble On The Ridge.
The second annual Borgers Rumble On The Ridge for Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints lived up to every expectation and more as twenty four TQ/600 Sprints took Starter Tyler Knitter’s green flag. From the very start Tidman was the man to beat as Bobby Butler and Shawn Nye chased Tidman to turn one. Nye slingshotted by Butler out of turn two with his sights set on Tidman. By lap ten Rob Vivona screamed into fourth with Billy Pauch Jr. glued to his rear bumper. Lap fourteen Vivona moved up two spots into second with Pauch falling in behond Vivona for third. Pauch was clearly on the move and took over second on a lap twenty five restart. The red flag waved on lap thirty four bringing the cars to a halt on the backstretch to take on fuel and make tire air pressure adjustments. As the race went back to green it was Tidman, Pauch, and vivona dicing for the lead. As the fight for the lead intensified Larry Hoagland, Sheldon Iudicello, and Brandon Zavarella joined the hunt. With six laps to go Pauch was involved in a tangle that sidelined him with a bent tie rod ending a spectacular run for the lead. As the checkered flag waved it was Tidman, Vivona, Hoagland, Iudicello, and Zavarella.
With thirteen feature event wins and the 2014 Borgers AllStar Slingshot Championship Taylor Eccles also wrapped up the 2014 OctoberFest championship edging out Kurt Bettler with tonight’s win number thirteen. It was Anthony Raisner, Eccles, and Jackson Ring to turn one but by lap four Kyle Herve and Kurt Bettler would take over third and fourth with Chris Kurtz falling in behind for fifth. Lap ten Eccles took the lead as Raisner began to fade. Herve moved into seocnd with Bettler third at the half way point. On a lap sixteen restart Bettler got the jump on Herve for second and the race for the championship with Eccles was on. With Bettler mounting a number of challenges he just did not have enough to catch Eccles as Eccles took the win and the championship. Kurtz was third followed by Raisner and Jim Conroy.
