Tidaback Steals Win From Hoagland On Final Lap Lap. No One Can Stop Eccles.
A lapped car played a crucial role in Mike Tidaback’s Hoosier Racing tires TQ/600 Sprint win at Borgers OctoberFest Round One this cool fall evening. Larry Hoagland, Rob Vivona, and Matt Janisch led the twelve car field to turn one but Janisch came out of turn two in second spot and the chase was on. Tidaback moved to fourth spot and then got by Vivona for third on lap nine. As hard as Janisch tried he could not catch Hoagland who was driving a masterful race. As the three car battle for the lead raged on between Hoagland, Janisch, and Tidaback, Geoffrey Sutton moved into fifth to challenge Vivona. As lap twenty one rolled around Tidaback made the move on Janisch for second. Now it was Hoagland trying to hold off a hard charging Tidaback. Tidaback took advantage of a miscue by Hoagland on a lapped car the final lap taking the win. Hoagland was second followed by Janisch, Vivona, and Sutton.
There is just no stopping Taylor Eccles as he took home another AllStar slingshot win but Johnny bush was determined to make his task extremely difficult. Bush led the seventeen car field to turn one with Anthony Raisner in tow. Eccles got by Raisner on lap three with his sights set on Bush. As Raisner, Kyle Herve, and Chris Kurtz battled for third Kurt Bettler was on the move. Kurtz secured third on lap thirteen with Bettler charging to fourth. Meanwhile Bush and Eccles were still in a fierce battle for the lead with Eccles taking over on lap sixteen. By lap twenty four Bettler moved into second with Kurtz third as Bush fell off the pace. In the closing laps Bettler mounted a charge on Eccles but it was not to be with Eccles taking the win. Bettler had to settle for second followed by Kurtz, Herve, and Bush.
Damon Paul held off Cody Quagliato and John Kendal in Junior Slingshots.
Tara Bush and Stacey McLaughlin raced neck and neck for the Powder Puff crown with Bush coming out on top. McLaughlin was second followed by Tina Conroy, Steffy Kurtz, Christie Odonnel, and Matty Reeder.
