Hoagland Two In A Row, Eccles Win Streak Continues.
Last week in victory lane Larry Hoagland said he had a third place car but many people begged to disagree with him. Tonight Larry proved his win last week was not a fluke as he once again visited victory lane in Hoosier Racing Tires Borgers TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints. Austin Fehr, Pat VanVarick, and Mike Tidaback led the charge to turn one but it was VanVarick in the lead coming out of turn two. On a lap nine restart Tidaback and Hoagland got by Fehr and a lap later Mark Yoder made the pass for fourth. As Tidaback turned up the steam on VanVarick a slight contact was made by the two leaders sending Tidaback to the infield. As the laps wound down Larry Hoagland came on strong and made the pass on VanVarick for the lead. As the checkered flag waved Larry Hoagland had win number two under his belt. VanVarick finished second followed by Yoder, Fehr, Jordan Tittle and Mike Fillbrunn.
Mike Fillbrunn who is no stranger to Borgers victory lane made his return as Jordan Tittle a winner at Borgers during the dirt days made his first asphalt start.
Taylor Eccles continued his winning ways making it win number nine taking the AllStar Slingshot win over Ryan Lacoe, Jim Conroy and Mike Moyer.
In the inaugural Borgers Speedway Bake Off Tyler Hoch was declared the winner. Melanie Morgan placed second and Sara Silfee and Trina Bechtold tied for third. Tyler received a huge check and $100 for his efforts. Melanie received $75 and Sara and Trina each $50.
As TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints car counts are building a huge jump is expected going into the last part of the regular season and OctoberFest. Two new TQ’s are scheduled for testing this Wednesday and Thursday and 2014 defending Asphalt 600 Sprint champion Jason Hentrich will be ready shortly. This week eight cars signed in with seven taking the green.
