ATQMRA Vintage TQ’s and Pork Chop $350 To Win Headline Borgers May 10.
A large car count is expected when the ATQMRA Vintage TQ’s invade Borgers Speedway this Saturday May 10. The well respected Vintage TQ Club typically draws more cars then the regular ATQMRA club and will give race fans an exciting glimpse into the early days of Three Quarter Midget Racing. Art Lawshie will be honored by the club during the day’s events.
The Pork Chop Karts will be competing for $350 to win with a eight car count. The Pork Chops were born during the dirt days at Borgers and some of the original Pork Chops including Moe Hunsinger will be in competition. Tom Boyd and Jason Beers will be trying to “Take Home the Bacon.”
Borgers AllStar TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints, AllStar and Junior Slingshots, Karts, and Microstocks will round out the card.
Look for a possible major Open Wheel test session this Saturday.
Sign ins for this Saturday will not start until 12:00 p.m. This is for this week only.
Keep in mind Warm-ups start at 1:00 p.m. followed by the driver’s meeting at 2:00 p.m. After the driver’s meeting we will go right into heat racing. The new format has been welcomed by racers and fans alike which has streamlined the show.
Correction. Correction Correction.
There was a misprint in this week’s Area Auto Racing News advertisement. Next Saturday May 17 will be a $650 to win event for the Briggs Flat Head Heavy Karts. The MSRS Microstocks will also be on hand for their tour race.
The Borgers AllStar TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints will be seeing a number of new faces in the coming weeks as more cars are being completed for competition. This is in preperation for the Bob Tidaback Memorial $2000 to win spectacular slated for June 28 which will also be Pocono International Raceway day and the Checkered Flag Fan club night.
