Need help with Caliper Brake adjustment for a manual brake set. Can anyone send directions on how to adjust the brake pads.
The caliper return spring broke and we replaced it with a slightly heavier gauge spring and moved the brake arm back. The brakes are working properly now but the pads are dragging some and need to be backed off a bit. Not sure how to fine tune..

You said you moved the arm back, that will make the brakes drag also. You need to make sure that when you install the arm back on, that the caliper is in the nutral spot. If you need to afjust the brakes, you need to loosen the small bolt on top of caliper and then turn the center threaded piece in or out, which ever way your adjusting them. Sorry, I don't have any pics to help.
But first make sure that they are not dragging. If you have someone hold the brake on just a little bit, does it free up or drag more?
