Looking for any ideas here. Car runs in the pits. Car runs on the track under pace laps and the first lap and a half or so. All of a sudden the car loses power or shuts off in the turns. When you get back to the strait it comes alive again. Everything in fuel system is new, the battery is new , the fuel pump in only grounded to the frame, feul pick up is open, totally out of ideas. Please help if at all possible.
Thank You, Barry Schlosser

Sounds like it could be flooding when you lift going in and then taking a while to clear when you get back to the throttle.

Diode wire is grounding out. Change ignition switch.

They won in their Stage One. They are talking about their slingbang that they sold and are trying to help the guy that bought it. I suggested the fuel pump wiring but that was covered. They tried different carbs.
I take it the battery and wiring was all intact to run the fuel pump?
Did you try running it without the diode wire yet? Do that to prove that there is nothing but the coils determining spark on the motor and shut it off with the fuel valve.
If it still does it you know your issue is with fuel delivery.

As it turns out, all of the above have been tried and unfortunately none of it changed anything. The problem was in the oil pressure sensor. Cutting the fuel pump out. I was not aware of the safety built into that switch. Hopefully the car will stay running next time out. thank you all for your responses.
