West End Fair Nationals.
The warm nights of summer bring back fond memories of the thousands of Country Fairs held throughout the USA. The midway lights, smell of food, and thrill of the rides and exhibits takes us back to a less complicated and simpler time.
As the sun would set the attention always turned to the old covered grandstand and the roar of high powered racecars which was the focus point of many of the Fairs. In fact Oval Dirt Track Racing was born at the Country Fairs.
On August 27 at the West End Fair in Gilbert, Pa. the hands of time will be turned back as the Borgers Speedway promotion team of Steve Heckman, Rich Raidline, and Richie Smith present the West End Fair Nationals. The time and the names may be different but the action will be just as intense as the top drivers in 270 and 600 Micro-Sprints, Slingshots, and the Stage One Modifieds take to the dirt oval at West End.
The West End Fair which is one of the oldest and largest Fairs in the country is rich in tradition. The massive 3500 seat covered grandstand is expected to be packed for this event which could very well be turn out to be one of the biggest attended Micro-Sprint races in the country.
All the top names in Micro-Sprint, Slingshot, and Stage One Modified racing are expected to be at West End. Among the early entries are Sean Stoltz,Mike Dicely, Tyler Walton, Ryan Smith Ross Perchak, and Eric Bodine. A complete list can be found at www.westendfairnationals.com Warm-ups will be starting at 5:30 p.m. and the first heat at 7:00 p.m.
