Final Results
1. Paul Lotier 2. Jim Housworth 3. Marc Daniels
Most rediculous race ever. 24 cars start. 4 cars finish. What a joke.
Can anyone remind me why this is such an awesome "racing" weekend?

you know it's kinda funny jim, that you've been caught cheating twice in the last couple years... kinda discredits all your wins and championships.... makes me wonder how much money and how many wins you have taken from drivers who do race legal... however, in your defense on this last deal... the rule clearly states: [ All added weight must be bolted to the weight tabs on the front/rear of the chassis and at the base of the seat. ] which means most of the cars in the race were illegal... cause i saw a lot of weight bolted to other parts of the cars... including the front belly pan... which isn't very thick metal... i think the rule need to be clarified for the future.......

His times where he was DQ'd came from questionable things. The rubrail and the flywheel... Look at all the flywheels now! they are all balanced. Discredits wins and championships my @ss! If you ask anyone they all know Jimmy is a top class racer, who knows what it takes to win and also is a regular for getting motors from tobias. He puts alot of hard work and has alot of great ideas for his cars. After all the WINS and Championships he has had, Jimmy has been teched SEVERAL times, and was legal. Rubrail or not, he was one of the last ones standing anyway. So i think that deserves some credit. And he did add intrest in the race with Laubach in a car. I wish some of these other guys that were junk would have been teched. I saw some goofy stuff down there.... Makes ya wonder..

hey kurt, hate to bust your bubble!!! it's black and white. the rubrail weight was illegal. no one is questioning the interest he brought with laubach. sad to say if he would have finished up front, he would have been busted also. all i'm saying is, once you cheat you have that label.

I don't know. I got a slinger at the end of last year and was planning on running them because they seemed like they would be fun. But after hear that someone gets DQed for a illegal rubrail, I'm second guessing my original thought. To me that's like saying someone is DQed because their body is the wrong color, in my mind it's rediculous. Flywheel, that would be understandable, but rubrail.....come on. I'm starting to realize that these things might be more of a hassel than anything. It seems the small things that aren't as important are dwelled upon and the more technical stuff is put on the back burnner. It kinda makes me afraid to get mine teched incase there is something that has no effect on anything that I don't know about is illegal. Heck the body didn't mount all that great and a little...very little trimming had to be done, but trimmed non the less. So does that now make the new body that I bought from SE illegal because it had to be made to fit the car properly? I hope I'm just getting a false picture of how things are going to be or I'll be back to karts...lol

it may seem petty, but the extra weight in the left side rubrail makes a huge difference on a bitey track. cause the car wants to tip or bicycle. and the rule is all weight must be bolted to the weight tabs on the chassis. play by the rules, and you won't have a problem.

Listen guys, this isn't as bad as it seems.... Putting weight in the rub rail gains you what a pound or two??? Not a big deal really the only thing it may help is when someone hits it and it doesn't bend.. The rule book of what 5 pages is very vaige and has a ton of grey areas in it and its those who think and read it that benifit from it. SE puts out these cute little e-mails of rule changes and such but what if you don't have internet access?? Jim is a class act and one hell of a driver and everyone needs to remember that, its not like it was a more serious infraction.... I am glad to see that SE actually did something and didn't shy away from it like usual. It just sucks that it happened to you Jim. It was a rub rail so let it go already.. If it hadn't been for some moron asking about it we wouldn't even be talking about it now!!! SE should put in their rule book that if its a grey area it is considered illegal until proven legal.. If I remember correctly, I think one of those little e-mails sent out said that all weight can be bolted in the frame rails of the car??? Does that include the swing arm or just past the fuel cell??? How about the air filter change or the new tire rule?? If somene just bought a slingshot and got the SE packet we all get how would he or she know of these changes...See what I mean... I would like to propose this?? A new slingshot organization. I would call it Slingshots Across America. A great set of rules that everyone knows about, new tracks and teching system that actually works... Run by people that everyone trusts and will back the drivers along with the tracks. Something needs to be done... Just like D.I.R.T. Call me if you want to start this?? Whos in??? 201-887-3441 ITS TIME!!!
